Are you guilty?
I posted some PowerPoint advice a couple of months ago, but then just last week I found the chart below that might help to bring the point home even more.

I agree with these PowerPoint sins and yet recently I have seen some great additions to PowerPoint through includes of other programs.
Data visualization software (such as Adobe Flex) included in a PowerPoint presentation allows the experienced presenter virtually “play” with the data on the screen. One of the best examples of this I have seen was through the TED Conference free public presentation they post following their conferences. The presenter used a PowerPoint type background but seemed to “control” the screen. Again this requires an experienced presenter with an experience programmer building the presentation - but wow talk about visually engaging!
